Online Math Tutoring
Terms and Conditions

1. Respect & Learning Environment
​

Sessions are meant to be calm, focused, and respectful. All communication between students, tutors, and parents must be professional.

Parents may observe but should avoid interrupting. Concerns can be discussed before or after the session.

Students should work in a quiet, distraction-free space. Tutors may end sessions early (charged in full) if disruptions occur.

Harassment, bullying, and academic dishonesty will not be tolerated.
2. Scheduling & Cancellations

Sessions can be canceled or rescheduled via text, email, phone, or using online scheduling platform.

24+ hours’ notice: No penalty.
-
Less than 24 hours: Full charge applies unless it’s an emergency.

Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may forfeit your regular time slot.
3. Late Arrivals

Sessions start and end on time. Late arrivals won’t extend the session.

Tutors wait 15 minutes total. If the student doesn't show, the session is charged in full.
4. Refunds

Refunds are issued only if the tutor misses a scheduled session.

Unused prepaid sessions are refundable if services are discontinued.
5. Academic Focus
​

Sessions build math understanding, problem-solving, and confidence.
​

Active participation is expected. Persistent behavior issues may lead to paused or ended services.
6. Progress Reports & Communication
​

Progress updates are emailed after every two sessions for ongoing clients.

Tutors respond to parent messages within 24 hours.

7. Technology Requirements
​

Students need:

Zoom (free version)

Stable internet
-
Working camera and mic
-
(Optional) Drawing tablet and stylus for interactive learning

8. Homework & Materials
​

Please send schoolwork or worksheets in advance if you want them reviewed during the session.
9. Test Prep Disclaimer

While tutors help with test strategies and skills, no specific score increases are guaranteed.
10. Privacy & Data Security
​

Student information is confidential and only shared with consent or if legally required.

Sessions are not recorded. All communication is encrypted and securely stored.
11. Tutor Qualifications
​

Tutors have math-related degrees and/or teaching certifications, undergo background checks, and receive regular training.

12. Accessibility & Inclusion
​

Tutors accommodate learning needs when informed by parents.
-
All staff are trained in cultural awareness and inclusivity.

13. Termination of Services
​

Services may be ended by the client at any time. Tutors may also terminate services if policies are violated or sessions are unproductive.

14. Emergency Protocols
Tutors are trained to respond to emergencies, including:

Technical Issues: Reconnect within 10 minutes or reschedule at no cost.

Student Distress: Tutors are mandated reporters and will notify guardians or emergency services if needed.

Abuse/Neglect: Suspicions are documented and reported.
-
Inappropriate Conduct: Sessions may be ended immediately; repeated issues may result in termination.

Medical Emergencies: If a student shows distress, tutors contact parents or emergency services based on known location.

Security Breaches: Sessions will be ended, accounts secured, and incidents reported.

Tutor Emergencies: If the tutor becomes unavailable, the session will be rescheduled at no cost.

15. Membership Credit Policy
Parents on a monthly membership plan who wish to skip a session due to holidays or other personal reasons may request to have that session credited to their account, provided at least 24 hours' notice is given.
Session credits:

Never expire

Can be used by another child in the same family

Can be redeemed at any time during the academic year, subject to tutor availability
In the final month of the academic year, families may:

Use any remaining session credits

Schedule additional sessions at the membership rate if more support is desired
